Club History & Photos

The Centennial State Miniature Schnauzer Club was formed in 1958 by Kathleen Knight and Arline Balster. There were just 6 members the first year.

After having Miniature Schnauzer matches as required by the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Centennial State Miniature Schnauzer Club was sanctioned in 1959 and ready to have their first AKC-sanctioned Miniature Schnauzer Specialty Show.

By 1960 the membership had increased to 11 or 12 including Steve and Bella Farber, well known terrier breeders. Steve was one of the early CSMSC Presidents.

The first locally owned and breed conformation Champion in Colorado was Knight's Hildy owned by Charter Member Kathleen Knight. Kathleen is still a member of CSMSC today, although she no longer breeds dogs.

Today, members of the club participate in a wide variety of activities with their dogs. Agility, conformation, earth dog, obedience, rally, therapy dog, and even tracking are all activities that Miniature Schnauzers excel in. © 2007 Centennial State Miniature Schnauzer Club - All Rights Reserved.
